Keg Tap Locks – Stop Tap Theft

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Since the birth of the keg party, man has been at the mercy of the worst of petty crimes – Tap theft. Its bad enough that in your good will to host a party, some sleaze-ball stole your tap, but there is much more to it than that. One of these two scenarios also presents itself:

1. The tap gets stolen in the middle of your party. The party stops until someone drives (probably drunk) to the liquor store and puts up a $65 dollar deposit to rent another tap.

2. The tap gets stolen at the end of the night, and you awake with a pounding headache and realize “damn, I have a lot of cleaning to do” and “Damn, my freak’in tap got stolen again.”

Both adding insult to injury!

The stories are consistent through high school and college. For some reason the baby boomers don’t seem to have to much of an issue with it. Keepatap was invented to solve this very problem. The first prototype was completed on the campus of Florida State University. It was only after a fraternity had 6 taps, thats right 6 taps (6 * $65=$390 loss) stolen in ONE NIGHT that we decided to get started. We found out through surveys, that every single person who frequented keg parties was either the victim, or knew a close friend who was the direct victim of tap theft. It is a huge problem!

KeepaTap™ protects against this. It is made from a high quality, high density polypropylene which is comparable to a bowling ball. It has a 60z steel lock encased in the chambers. It also comes with two unique key, one to get you started, and one to back up the one you are probably going to lose. We highly recommend this product for anyone who has keg parties, and especially for those who are using multi spout taps such as Octopus Tap.

Ensure that your party keeps going, and your beer keeps flowing. Lock up your tap with KeepaTap™.
